"Unnamed Lands" CD - Bert Lams and Tom Griesgraber

Tom Griesgraber: Grand Stick, synths
Bert Lams: acoustic guitar

Unnamed Lands transforms the mythology of the Old West into a cinematic instrumental journey through the combined voices of Chapman Stick and acoustic guitar. Tom Griesgraber and Bert Lams move seamlessly between the hopeful warmth of “Don’t Look Back,” “Prairie Suite,” “A Letter Home” and “Rebecca,” and the darker, more experimental landscapes of “Where the Trail Divides,” “Insects,” “A Red Glow Against the Sky,” “Smoke Signals,” “War Dance” and “Unearthly Screams/Scattered.”

Blending folk textures, progressive rhythms and immersive sound design, the duo create an album that feels both intimate and epic — rich with atmosphere, movement and storytelling. Even without drums, the percussive interplay of Stick and guitar drives every piece forward, capturing the tension, wonder and mystery of a journey into the unknown.
